The incoming UK Prime Minister has received harsh criticism on social media from Coventry South MP Zarah Sultana.

Following Penny Mourdant’s withdrawal from the leadership competition, Conservative Rishi Sunak has won the race to become the first British Asian Prime Minister.

It is anticipated that the next prime minister would take office soon. After Sir Graham Brady, the head of the 1922 committee of backbenchers, announced the outcome yesterday.

In repsonse to the win, Zarah Sultana wrote: “So Rishi Sunak – the richest MP in history – is going to become Prime Minister, with plans to cut funding for public services and slash workers’ wages. This Tory class war will be waged with no mandate, without a single vote being cast. General election now! #EnoughIsEnough”

“This is a failing of our country’s democratic processes. A PM with no connection to the reality of most people in the UK.”
