Filmmaker Peter Stefanovic has slammed the government over its migration bill, and he claims the shocking govt report is getting little coverage in the mainstream media.

Migration bill

It comes as health experts have condemned a migration law that could allow the detention of children illegally arriving in the UK, saying it could cause “unimaginable levels of harm and trauma” to them, reports Sky News.

In a truly shocking letter, a group of concerned doctors and leading medical experts have advised that the Illegal Migration Bill risks PTSD, depression and suicidal behaviour among young people who may be detained under the new law.

Shocking govt report

Refugee Council chief exec Enver Solomon, told Sky News: “Well, the government believes that if you lock children up, it will act as a deterrence. [That] it will send a message to people not to come to the UK, to children not to come to the UK seeking safety.

“But we know that just doesn’t hold true.”

A Home Office spokesperson said: “It is vital we send a clear message that the exploitation of children, used by traffickers and ferried across the Channel, cannot continue. That is why families, and children who come to the UK illegally will not be exempt from detention and removal under the illegal migration bill.

“While this legislation gives the home secretary the power to remove an unaccompanied child under 18 from the UK, we have amended the bill to make clear that this will only be exercised in very limited circumstances, such as for the purposes of reunion with a parent or removing someone to their safe home country.

“We have additionally clarified that an unaccompanied child can also only be detained in very limited circumstances. The statistics do not take into account how the bill will be implemented and do not include any allowance for the deterrence effect of the measures in the bill.”

Peter shared the video and wrote: “This is shocking. Rishi Sunak told MP’s his illegal Migration Bill was LEGAL.

“A Joint Committee on Human Rights has now published a damning verdict finding it BREACHES A NUMBER OF THE UK’S INTERNATIONAL LEGAL OBLIGATIONS!

“So much for honesty! Why is UK media not all over this?”
