Buffy the Vampire Slayer is coming back?

Yes!

Slayers: A Buffyverse Story is bringing back original cast members James Marsters, Charisma Carpenter, Anthony Head, Juliet Landau, Emma Caulfield Ford, Amber Benson, James Charles Leary, and Danny Strong.

The audio original is set 20 years after the series finale, so no Sarah Michelle Gellar it seems.

James Marsters told Entertainment weekly: “I’m ecstatic to be back with my dear friends for this next chapter in the Buffyverse, as we take listeners on a familiar but unexpected journey chock full of horror, passion and mischief,”

The star went on saying. “I’m excited for old and new fans to experience this beloved world of vampire slaying like never before, brought to life through immersive audio storytelling.”

History of show

Buffy the Vampire Slayer is a popular American television series that originally aired from March 10, 1997, to May 20, 2003.

The show was created by Joss Whedon and is known for its unique blend of horror, drama, comedy, and supernatural elements. It gained a dedicated fanbase and is considered a cult classic in the world of television.

The series is centered around Buffy Summers, portrayed by Sarah Michelle Gellar, who is a young woman chosen to be the “Slayer.”

In this world, a Slayer is a chosen one with superhuman abilities tasked with battling vampires, demons, and other supernatural threats to protect humanity. Buffy, along with her group of friends, known as the “Scooby Gang,” combats these supernatural forces in the fictional town of Sunnydale.

Some of the main characters in the series include Willow Rosenberg (played by Alyson Hannigan), Xander Harris (played by Nicholas Brendon), Rupert Giles (played by Anthony Stewart Head), and Angel (played by David Boreanaz), who is a vampire with a soul and becomes Buffy’s love interest.
