In a whimsical turn of events, Hollywood celebrities Ryan Gosling, Dame Helen Mirren, America Ferrera, and Kate McKinnon have stepped back into their roles from the film “Barbie” to assist Oscars host Jimmy Kimmel in finding his way to the prestigious ceremony.

Kimmel, set to helm the Oscars for the fourth time next month, features in a promotional video where he seeks guidance from McKinnon’s character, Weird Barbie.

Despite its notable absence from several Oscar categories, including Best Actress and Best Director, “Barbie” remains in the limelight as one of last year’s highest-grossing films, with nominations for Best Picture. Gosling and Ferrera are also up for awards in supporting categories.

Narrated by Dame Helen, the promotional clip sees Weird Barbie humorously labeling Kimmel as “midlife crisis Ken” or “lost everything in the divorce Ken” before offering him directions to “Oscarsland” via a peculiar map.

In a nod to the adventurous spirit of “Barbie,” Weird Barbie takes Kimmel on a journey in her Weird Wagon, passing by locations featured in various Best Picture contenders, including encounters with characters like Bella Baxter from “Poor Things,” portrayed by Emma Stone.

As they navigate through cinematic landscapes like Osage County and Carnegie Hall, Ferrera reprises her role as Gloria to deliver a tongue-in-cheek monologue about the challenges of hosting the Oscars, likening it to the complexities of modern womanhood.

Reflecting on the demanding nature of the role, Gloria quips, “You have to be extraordinary but somehow you’re always doing it wrong… almost nobody cares you’re there.”

Kimmel, seemingly overwhelmed by the analogy, humorously concludes, “Hosting the Oscars is even harder than being a woman,” to which Gloria retorts, “That’s not at all what I was saying.”

Adding a touch of levity, Gosling’s Ken joins the scene to jest about post-awards show traditions, only to be informed by Gloria about Greta Gerwig’s directorial snub, leading to a comically exaggerated reaction.

The playful promotional video sets the stage for Kimmel’s upcoming hosting duties at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on March 10, promising a blend of humor and Hollywood glamour for the much-anticipated Oscars ceremony.
