A former developer for Grand Theft Auto 6 (GTA 6) has shared insights into the upcoming game’s impressive realism, saying it will “blow people away.”

Ben Hinchliffe, who worked at Rockstar Games for years, contributed to major titles like LA Noire, GTA V, and Red Dead Redemption 2, before leaving in 2021. In a recent interview with GTA VI O’clock, he discussed what Rockstar may be focusing on as they prepare for GTA 6’s expected release in autumn 2025.

GTA 6: Focus on Bug Fixes and Gameplay Realism

Hinchliffe suggested that Rockstar’s current priority is likely on bug-fixing and refining gameplay. He noted how Rockstar’s developers must consider players who “mess around” and try unconventional ways of completing missions, which adds complexity to game development.

When asked what excites him about GTA 6’s release, Hinchliffe expressed curiosity about how much has changed since he left.

“Seeing where it was when I left and playing the final version – I’m keen to see how much, if anything, has changed,” he said. “I got to see a lot of new content, story elements, and I’d love to know how they’ve evolved and turned out.”

Realism Set to Amaze Players

When asked if players will be “surprised” by GTA 6, Hinchliffe said the game’s realism is likely to set it apart from previous entries. He explained, “Every Rockstar game has evolved in some way, with each release feeling more realistic in terms of characters’ actions and behaviours.”

According to Hinchliffe, GTA 6 will surpass previous games in this regard. “It will blow people away. It will sell incredibly well, as always. People have been talking about it since GTA 5, and I’m excited for players to finally get their hands on it. Rockstar has raised the bar once again.”

Anticipation Builds for GTA 6 Trailer

Hinchliffe’s comments mirror those from Rockstar Games’ parent company, Take-Two Interactive, which has described GTA 6 as “setting new entertainment benchmarks.” Fans are eager for more details, and speculation is high that a second trailer announcement could be imminent, possibly even before Take-Two’s next earnings call on 8 November. Whether fans will get a glimpse of the groundbreaking realism Hinchliffe hinted at remains to be seen.
