After more than a decade of radio silence, Final Destination is finally making a comeback—and it’s already sounding more thrilling than the next Scream instalment. Dubbed Final Destination: Bloodlines, this long-awaited sixth chapter is scheduled to terrorise cinema screens in mid-2025, complete with an IMAX release. Warner Bros. hasn’t spilled many details about the new plot, but that’s just part of the fun, isn’t it?

Why This Comeback Matters

A 14-Year Gap

It’s been nearly 14 years since Final Destination 5 twisted our minds with that memorable timeline twist, connecting it back to the very start of the franchise. While the fifth film’s lukewarm reception left fans wanting more, the franchise still built a dedicated following over the years.

A Refreshed Horror Scene

The horror landscape has expanded massively in the past decade, with new franchises slashing their way onto our screens. This could be the perfect time for Final Destination to spread its wings again—especially since audiences never really got bored of watching people dodge death’s elaborate traps.

Something “Different”

Creator Jeffrey Reddick has hinted that Final Destination 6 will have a new vibe compared to its predecessors. Considering Final Destination was all about those insane, Rube Goldberg–esque death scenarios, it’s anyone’s guess what “different” might look like—but let’s hope it maintains that morbid creativity we all secretly love.

Why It’s More Exciting Than Scream 7

By now, Scream has had multiple comebacks, reboots, and reinventions—each time treading the line between self-awareness and slasher chaos. But Final Destination? That’s an entirely different beast.

We’re dealing with cosmic fate here, people—no masked killer in sight. The real question is how the new movie will top the sheer gruesome inventiveness of previous death scenes. Let’s face it: that’s the Final Destination calling card.

The Anticipation Factor

After 14 years, fans are itching for fresh ways to cheat death, whether it involves malfunctioning roller coasters or catastrophic highways. This hiatus has given the franchise room to breathe and an opportunity to re-enter an entirely redefined horror genre. Will it still have that nerve-racking tension that makes you fear even the smallest daily tasks? Probably—and that’s why we’ll be queueing up for tickets.
