Watch: Trump says a ‘fourth’ term could be possible, despite the Constitution

Trump insists a 2028 run isn’t his third term – it’s actually his fourth. Here’s why.

Over the weekend, Donald Trump sparked some serious head-scratching when he explained why he could run for what he’s calling a “fourth term.” Wait, what? Didn’t we all agree a president can only serve two terms? Well, Trump seems to think otherwise.

🗣️ “It’s Actually a Fourth Term”

During a chat with NBC News, Trump insisted that if he runs for president again in 2028, it won’t be his third term – it’ll be his fourth. Yes, you read that right. Apparently, because he believes the 2020 election was “rigged,” Trump considers the 2020 term as a “lost” one. And thus, if he wins in 2028, he’ll be serving what he calls a “fourth term.”

In his own words: “I just don’t want the credit for the second [term] because Biden was so bad.” Of course, there’s no proof for his ongoing claims about the 2020 election, but he’s sticking with it.

🤷‍♂️ “So Many People Are Saying…”

Trump also tried to justify his comments by claiming he’s been hearing from, you guessed it, “so many people” who are asking him to run again. But, naturally, he didn’t name any of these mysterious people. He simply said, “They love the job we’re doing.”

His rambling press conference left reporters with more questions than answers. And when one reporter asked if running for a “fourth term” would set a bad precedent, Trump ignored the question and kept repeating how much people want him back. Not surprisingly, he didn’t get into any specifics.

🔄 A Long Way to Go, Apparently

Trump made it clear that there’s still plenty of time before any decisions need to be made. “We have almost four years to go,” he said, “and that’s a long time.” But despite that, the self-proclaimed “people’s choice” says everyone is still asking him to run again. Maybe he’s just having a good time with all the attention.

😅 The ‘Fourth Term’ That Isn’t

So, what do we take away from all this? Trump’s “fourth term” claim is as confusing as it is controversial. With almost four years to go before the next election, it looks like we’ll be hearing a lot more about this, whether we want to or not.
