The US has not ruled out the possibility that an “object” it shot down over the weekend was actually an unidentified flying object, spooky right?

US Air Force General Glen VanHerck told reporters.: I’ll let the intel community and the counterintelligence community figure that out,” he said, on being asked about the possibility of the object being a UFO.

“I am not able to categorise how they stay aloft. It could be a gaseous type of balloon inside a structure or it could be some type of propulsion system. But clearly, they’re able to stay aloft.”

"An official admitted he couldn't rule out the objects were extra-terrestrials. The object has been described by defence officials as an unmanned octagonal structure with strings attached to it."

But Professor Brian Cox nailed it, he wrote: “I’ve always suspected that an advanced alien civilisation with the technology to travel at close to light speed across interstellar distances would arrive in Earth orbit unobserved and proceed to dispatch a fleet of small, easily detectable balloons into our atmosphere.”

The coverage of the whole balloon thing is just so moronic, and media outlets are only too happy to fan the flames of unfounded speculation and stupidity. We are catering to dummies on a scale never seen before. https://t.co/kNkrGGiO0a
