Donald Trump has reignited his war of words with Elon Musk—this time suggesting the Tesla CEO should head back to South Africa.
The former besties have been at each other’s throats since Musk stormed out of his White House role in May, following a dramatic fallout over Trump’s controversial “big, beautiful bill.”
Now, things are heating up again.
💥 Musk slams Trump’s spending bill
The billionaire tech boss lit the fuse on Monday by posting a furious rant on X. He called out Republicans who supported Trump’s bill and declared:
“They will lose their primary next year if it’s the last thing I do on this Earth.”
He also accused the GOP of becoming a “one-party country – the PORKY PIG PARTY” and demanded a new political movement that “actually cares about the people.”
Musk had pumped $250 million into Trump’s re-election effort before their spectacular fallout.
🇺🇸 Trump: ‘Maybe Elon should go home’
Never one to let a jab slide, Trump responded on TruthSocial with a barely veiled threat.
“Elon may get more subsidy than any human being in history… without subsidies, Elon would probably have to close up shop and head back home to South Africa.”
Trump slammed Musk’s electric vehicle empire and claimed, “Electric cars are fine, but not everyone should be forced to own one.”
He even hinted that the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE)—which Musk used to lead—should now investigate Tesla’s government funding.
🚀 From bromance to blood feud
It’s a long fall from grace. Just months ago, Trump was happily trying to flog a Tesla from the White House lawn. Now, he’s threatening to cut the cord on SpaceX launches and EV production entirely.
Musk previously hit back with claims about Trump’s alleged ties to disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein—claims he later deleted, admitting he may have “gone too far.”
But clearly, the damage is done.
🧨 What now?
The feud exploded back into public view as the US Senate began debating Trump’s spending bill, prompting Musk to relaunch his attack.
With both men eyeing influence over America’s political future—and each other’s reputations—it looks like this fight is far from over.
