The Watcher was a hit on Netflix brought to the streaming site Ryan Murphy, the mastermind behind American Horror Story. It racked up almost 341 million hours of worldwide viewing in the 18 days after its premiere on 13th October, some amazing figures.

Based on a real-life true crime story, The Watcher told the story of 657 Boulevard, an apparently normal house in New Jersey (a fictionalised version of Westfield).
Loosely inspired by a true story published in The Cut, the show follows a married couple who move into their dream home only to discover they’re being stalked by a mysterious person who goes by the nickname “The Watcher.”
What is The Watcher season 2 release date?
Starring Naomi Watts and Bobby Cannavale as Nora and Dean Brannock, The Watcher was originally meant to be a limited series, as previously mentioned. However, since the Ryan Murphy show broke the glass ceiling, Netflix had no other option than to renew it for another season.
The good news it is coming to our screens…the bad news, it might not be a while, maybe even next year. There were hopes it might be released this month, but this is definitely not the case.
It’s likely we won’t see a second season of the show until October 2023 at the earliest.
On November 7, 2022, that is just 20 days after season one premiered on Netflix, The Watcher was renewed for a second season.
The news was confirmed by the official Netflix Twitter handle, saying: “Following the record-breaking success of DAHMER – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, Ryan Murphy & Ian Brennan will create two more installments that will focus on other monstrous figures who have impacted society. A second season of The Watcher has also been greenlit!”
