Edwina Currie has spouted off about the NHS strikes and it has not gone down well.

Before we start yes there were puns in the headline, if you didn’t spot them, then replace me with IA or maybe replace yourself with IA as you should have spotted them!

For those who don’t know she had an affair with former PM John Major and in 1988, then as junior health she warned the British public that most of the egg production in the UK was affected by Salmonella.

The ramifications were colossal, causing egg sales to plummet.

Anyway, she decided to tweet this about the junior doctor’s strike, “Every one of these doctors has patients waiting in pain. Every single one.”

Junior doctors working in the country’s National Health Service (NHS) walked out Tuesday — the first of four days of strikes — demanding a 35% increase in annual salaries.

Every single day at work in my hospital I see patients in pain, anguish, suffering & misery caused by 13 successive years of deliberate NHS understaffing & underfunding by your party. It’s horrendous, Dickensian, unforgivable. So what exactly is your point, @Edwina_Currie? https://t.co/dzAJtVDhTo

All sitting in waiting lists that have ballooned under 13 years of disastrous Tory government.
You don't seem so concerned about that though.

Every one of these patients are waiting because of a political preference to deliberately underfund and to privatise the NHS.

This tweet sums up how delusional many conservatives (and right wing press) are if they think junior doctors are abandoning their patients and being greedy. Stick to eggs Edwina https://t.co/pe7Z4QG5MM

Every single one of these doctors has worked their socks off to have the skills and knowledge to save lives. Every single one of them. And you pay them as if they are worthless. https://t.co/hZRmT4w7HS
