Tory MP’s theory on climate change is so cringe – earth shattering reactions

"I blame the EU," said one person in jest at the Tory MP's comment.

John Redwood, for it is he, is one of the most wayward (to put it very nicely) politicians of his generation.

A darling of the Brexiters and far-right of Tory party, he says some really cringeworthy tweets on social media on a regular basis.

He even went to try and become the PM once!

This tweet one is no different.

Re-watch

Before we get to that, this video is worth a re-watch

Here is it:

His comments come as wildlife presenter Chris Packham has made a rallying call for “every last person who cares” about the planet to join Extinction Rebellion after thousands took part in a demonstration over the weekend.

Packham spoke to the crowd from a stage close to Parliament Square, Westminster, during the second day of a mass protest the climate group has called “The Big One”.

Around 50,000 people are expected to join the action between April 21-24, which has garnered support from more than 200 organisations including Greenpeace and Friends of the Earth.

Chria retweeted this tweet, Dave Goulson wrote: “Huge crowds in London yesterday for peaceful The Big One #Earthday environmental protest, but sadly little coverage in mainstream media (Guardian excepted). Compare to huge coverage of disruptive events by @JustStop_Oil. What message does this send? #UniteToSurvive“

Reactions

Well, there were some earth shattering reactions…

1.

This tweet is king of speaking before googling. April 2021 was the one that was frosty widely. Dear oh dear 😂 https://t.co/A2VTT1nuv7

There are people out there with less than a geography degree who will explain to you for free the difference between climate and weather.

3.

Ah, it's the weekend intern who does the weather/climate tweet. Good morning! How's the A-level revision going?

4.

This MUST be a spoof account. https://t.co/HHw7Z3dzyr

5.

Oh dear, oh dear. Is this man really as ignorant of the key difference between 'weather' and 'climate' as his tweet would suggest? https://t.co/rkKhUOi6SC

Jesus H Chris, this chump is supposed to be one of the Tory Party's "intelligentsia"!

I guess all things are relative when you're up against Lee Anderson, Andrea Jenkins, and Gillis. https://t.co/I6RXgw181v

When I see tweets like this I genuinely click to the bio to check if it’s a parody or not. Staggering stupidity from someone who is actually elected by society to shape our country’s laws. https://t.co/3bgedNxJGx
