Sudan: Has James Cleverly done ‘a Raab’ over lax evacuation?

The UK has come under criticism for appearing relatively slow to act when evacuating UK citizens from Sudan.

Although the UK evacuated embassy staff on Sunday, other countries such as France and Germany have airlifted other civilians.

Germany has so far evacuated over 400 people from Sudan, including people from the UK, Ireland, Poland and the Czech Republic, conducting operations from the airbase from late on Sunday.

Finally the UK will begin evacuation flights for 2,000-plus Britons trapped in Sudan. Ben Wallace, speaking at a defence select committee, would not give a precise time on when flights out would start,

France has managed to evacuate people while the UK seems to have sat on the fence for too long.
