The two-season renewal comes as no surprise, given the impressive performance and favorable economics of Ginny & Georgia.

Netflix has officially greenlit a third and fourth season of the popular series Ginny & Georgia, as reported by Deadline.

The show, starring Brianne Howey and Antonia Gentry, will continue its run with Sarah Glinski, known for her work on Degrassi: The Next Generation, taking over as the showrunner for the upcoming seasons. This decision was made before the WGA strike. Glinski replaces Debra J. Fisher, who held the showrunner position for the first two seasons.

The two-season renewal comes as no surprise, given the impressive performance and favorable economics of Ginny & Georgia. Netflix has followed a similar pattern with other successful shows, such as Virgin River.

However, what did come as a surprise was the four-month delay in announcing the renewal of Ginny & Georgia, considering the series’ high ratings. Speculation suggests that the change in showrunner may have contributed to this delay.

There were rumors circulating about tensions between Fisher and the show’s creator, Sarah Lampert. By April, it was already speculated that Fisher would be leaving the series.
