It is nearly Xmas (sorry but it is), so let’s talk Xmas movies, and we are going big! So could Macaulay Culkin return to new Home Alone?

What we DO KNOW is Eddie Murphy will be featuring in an Xmas movie this festive season.

As we SHOULD all know the Home Alone film series is a popular and beloved collection of family comedy movies.

The series began in the early 1990s and has entertained audiences of all ages.

First two films

The first two films, featuring Macaulay Culkin as Kevin McCallister, are the most well-known and cherished entries in the series.

They are considered holiday classics and are often watched during the Christmas season.

John Williams and stars Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern all decided against being part of the third release, as well as Culkin.

By 1994, the actor was burnt out having appeared in 15 movies, an amazing and troubling statistic.

The subsequent films, with different characters and storylines, did not achieve the same level of popularity as the original two.

Macaulay Culkin return to new Home Alone?

Earlier this year, TV & movie news website ‘Giant Freaking Robot‘ made the huge annoucement that the news that Macaulay Culkin would be returning for a new Home Alone movie on Disney+.

In the latest Home Alone film (Home Sweet Home Alone) it is mentioned that Kevin, now fully grown up, now owns a security company (oh the irony!)

“Macaulay Culkin returning as the CEO of a thriving security firm within the Home Alone universe is undeniably intriguing. Imagining a scenario where Kevin’s own child is accidentally left behind,” wrote That Christmas Magic.

But this is just dreaming, as we don’t know the plot of the new film.

All we can do is hope.

Home Alone History – Spoilers Alert!

Here are the main films in the “Home Alone” series:

Home Alone (1990):

Directed by Chris Columbus.
Written and produced by John Hughes.
The first film in the series follows the adventures of Kevin McCallister, played by Macaulay Culkin, a young boy who is accidentally left behind by his family when they go on vacation for Christmas. Kevin must defend his home from two bumbling burglars using a variety of ingenious traps.
