After The Conjuring 4 was confirmed in October 2022, producer James Wan, who also helmed the first two films, stated in January 2023 that production was in progress but urged patience from series fans, saying:
“With the Conjuring films, we are very precious about [them]. And so we kind of want to just take our time to make sure we get it right and to make sure the emotion of the Warren stories that we want to tell, and moving into, and potentially wrapping up, we just want to make sure that it’s the right thing, the right story that we’re telling.”
The Nun 2, the follow-up to the prequel about the demonic nun Valak from The Conjuring 2, will take us back to the world of The Conjuring this year, but the release date for the subsequent Conjuring film is yet unknown.
