Toy Story 5 is coming and it is the best news for fans of the long, and much loved, franchise.

The film series is produced by Pixar Animation Studios and released by Walt Disney Pictures. The franchise began with the release of “Toy Story” in 1995.
It all began with a Disney’s earnings call back in February.
CEO Bob Iger explained that they will be resurrecting some of the biggest titles in the company’s history.
“Today I’m so pleased to announce that we have sequels in the works from our animation studios to some of our most popular franchises, Toy Story, Frozen and Zootopia,” he said.
“We’ll have more to share about these productions soon, but this is a great example of how we’re leaning into our unrivalled brands and franchises.”
At the time Tim Allen tweeted: “See ya soon Woody, you are a sad strange little man and you have my pity. And off we go to a number 5! To infinity and beyond.”

Tim Allen, who we stress ISN’T part of the writing process, admitted that he wants to see the franchise go full circle by following an adult Andy.
He wants Andy go on a mission to track down the lost toys.
Allen explained: “I don’t know this is where the story’s going, but what if the whole story was through… Andy is an adult, has children, and they just happen to be online, [and] the kid goes, ‘Have you ever seen this toy?’ And Andy sees that Buzz has got a hand missing, and he’s in a… they’re selling these vintage toys. And Andy goes and gathers all the toys up. “
He continued: “He has to go out and find each one of them, put them back together, bring them back to his house, and starts the whole thing over again with his son. And I said, ‘What a wonderful idea is that he brings it [back]. It’s all through Andy’s eyes, because we made his life, and now he’s returning that favor.”
Toy Story 5 will not be out for a few years though sadly…
Tory Story History

- Toy Story (1995): The first film in the series introduces Woody, Buzz Lightyear, and other toys belonging to a boy named Andy. The toys come to life when humans are not around.
- Toy Story 2 (1999): The sequel explores Woody’s origin and introduces new characters. Woody is stolen by a toy collector, and Buzz Lightyear and other toys embark on a mission to rescue him.
- Toy Story 3 (2010): The toys face an uncertain future as Andy prepares to leave for college. They end up at a daycare center, where they must deal with new challenges and adventures.
- Toy Story 4 (2019): Woody, Buzz, and the gang go on a road trip with Bonnie and encounter new toys, including Forky, a homemade toy with an existential crisis.
