ITV has officially announced the return of Celebrity Big Brother to TV screens in 2024. Following the recent launch of a new series of Big Brother on the network, the iconic reality show will once again feature a cast of famous faces residing in the Big Brother house. Cameras will capture their every move as they engage in weekly nominations and challenges.

The revival will also include a spin-off show titled “Celebrity Big Brother: Late & Live,” where evicted contestants will be interviewed for the first time after leaving the house. The last celebrity and “civilian” versions of Big Brother aired on Channel 5 in 2018, marking the end of the network’s seven-year association with the often controversial program.

ITV2 recently aired the “civilian” version of the show, reigniting interest among viewers. Paul Mortimer, Director of Reality Commissioning and Acquisitions, ITV2 and ITVBe, expressed excitement about bringing a celebrity edition to ITV1 and ITVX in the coming year. Casting is underway to assemble a fresh batch of famous faces who are expected to deliver iconic and unmissable Big Brother moments.

The previous series of Celebrity Big Brother saw soap star Ryan Thomas emerge as the winner amidst controversies, including a scandal involving actress Roxanne Pallett.

In the previous series of Celebrity Big Brother, the spotlight was firmly on soap star Ryan Thomas, who emerged as the ultimate victor in a season riddled with controversies and dramatic twists. The 2018 season captured the attention of viewers not only for its typical reality show fare but also for a scandal that unfolded within the confines of the Big Brother house involving actress Roxanne Pallett.

Ryan Thomas, best known for his role in the popular British soap opera “Coronation Street,” found himself at the center of a media storm after an incident with fellow housemate Roxanne Pallett. The controversy began when Pallett accused Thomas of deliberately hurting her during what appeared to be a playful interaction.

The incident, initially framed as a case of alleged physical aggression, sparked heated debates both within the house and among viewers outside. Pallett’s accusations led to a surge of support for Thomas, with many defending him and labeling the incident as playful banter rather than intentional harm. The controversy unfolded in a highly publicized manner, intensifying the scrutiny on the reality show and its participants.

The situation reached its peak when Pallett eventually left the Big Brother house, later expressing regret for her role in the controversy. Meanwhile, Ryan Thomas continued to navigate the challenges of the competition, maintaining his composure amidst the public discourse surrounding the incident.

As the season concluded, Ryan Thomas emerged as the winner, but the controversy lingered in the minds of viewers and remained a significant talking point in the aftermath of the show. The incident not only had repercussions for the individuals involved but also sparked broader discussions about the nature of reality television and the impact of heightened scrutiny on the mental well-being of participants.

The saga involving Ryan Thomas and Roxanne Pallett serves as a memorable chapter in the history of Celebrity Big Brother, underscoring the unpredictable nature of reality television and the fine line between entertainment and controversy. It remains an indelible moment in the annals of reality shows, contributing to the ongoing dialogue about the responsibilities of producers, the well-being of contestants, and the blurred boundaries between real-life conflicts and staged drama in the pursuit of ratings.
