Great news for Peaky Blinders fans—this isn’t the end. Series creator Steven Knight has confirmed that the upcoming film is not the final chapter.

Speaking to BBC Breakfast, Knight dropped a tantalising hint that the world of Peaky Blinders will continue beyond the big screen. But exactly how? Well, he’s not quite ready to spill the beans.

“It’s not over”—what does that mean?

When asked about the future of the show, Knight teased:

“It’s not over, let’s just put it like that. I’m not allowed to announce it… but I’m just saying that the world of Peaky will continue.”

So, is another series in the works? A spin-off? A new era of crime in Birmingham? The possibilities are endless.

The film: A fitting end… for now

Knight was full of praise for The Immortal Man: A Peaky Blinders Film, calling it a “very fitting way to end this part of the Peaky story”.

The film, set to debut on Netflix, will bring back Cillian Murphy as Tommy Shelby, alongside a star-studded cast. Expect to see familiar faces like Sophie Rundle, Ned Dennehy, Packy Lee, and Ian Peck, as well as big names like Rebecca Ferguson, Tim Roth, Jay Lycurgo, and Barry Keoghan.

“I think we’ve got the best British actors all in one place, including Stephen [Graham]. The rushes look incredible—no one will be disappointed,” Knight promised.

What’s next for Steven Knight?

Aside from Peaky Blinders, Knight is keeping busy. His latest project, A Thousand Blows, is set to stream on Disney+.

The show stars Stephen Graham as infamous 1880s boxer Sugar Goodson, and follows two Jamaican friends navigating London’s brutal bare-knuckle boxing scene. Expect gang wars, gritty fight sequences, and a criminal underworld as dangerous as anything the Peaky Blinders faced.

Knight’s love for the BBC

Though A Thousand Blows is a Disney+ production, Knight insists he’s still a BBC loyalist.

“Peaky is a BBC show, and I love working with them. There’s no place like it. The BBC should be strutting on the world stage amongst the streamers.”

And while streaming giants like Netflix and Disney+ are offering big budgets, Knight believes the BBC has always been great at “making the best of what they have”.

So, with a new BBC project in the works, the Peaky Blinders film on the horizon, and a cryptic promise that the story isn’t over, fans have a lot to look forward to.
