Dexter Morgan is making a comeback – again. After narrating Dexter: Original Sin, Michael C. Hall is stepping back into the spotlight for a new spin-off, Dexter: Resurrection.

The series is already in production, and exciting details about the cast and storyline are starting to emerge. So, what can fans expect? Here’s everything we know so far.

When Will Dexter: Resurrection Premiere?

Dexter: Resurrection is set to premiere on Paramount+ with Showtime in summer 2025. Production kicked off in New York back in January.

Who’s in the Cast?

Michael C. Hall is back as Dexter, but he’s not the only familiar face.

  • David Zayas returns as Angel Batista.
  • James Remar is back as Dexter’s father, Harry Morgan.
  • Jack Alcott reprises his role as Harrison Morgan, Dexter’s son.

The new cast is just as impressive:

  • Neil Patrick Harris joins as Lowell.
  • Krysten Ritter guest stars as Mia.
  • Eric Stonestreet plays Al, a suspected serial killer from Kansas City (appearing in four episodes).
  • David Dastmalchian appears as Gareth.

It gets better – Uma Thurman has been cast as Charley, a former special ops officer-turned-security chief for billionaire Leon Prater. And who plays Prater? None other than Peter Dinklage.

Other new faces include:

  • Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine as Blessing Kamara.
  • Kadia Saraf as Detective Claudette Wallace.
  • Dominic Fumusa as Detective Melvin Oliva.
  • Emilia Suárez as Elsa Rivera.

What’s It About?

Dexter: Resurrection will pick up right after the events of Dexter: New Blood.

In New Blood, Dexter was living under an alias in a small New York town before being shot by his own son, Harrison. But, as Original Sin revealed, Dexter survived thanks to freezing temperatures and quick medical intervention.

Showrunner Clyde Phillips explained it like this:

“Had you been shot in the summertime, you’d be dead. But you were shot in zero-degree weather. We ripped you open and got you just minutes before you died.”

Dexter is very much alive – and he’s not done yet.

What Else Do We Know?

Phillips had previously insisted, “Dexter is dead,” after New Blood. Clearly, he’s had a change of heart.

While plot details are under wraps, Dexter’s moral code – and his dark passenger – will no doubt face fresh challenges as old faces and new threats collide.

Brace yourself – this could be Dexter’s most dangerous chapter yet.
