Dorries, Mogg and Patel are in hot water after they, and other Tory MPs, were named in special report on partygate probe.

The privileges committee has released its report into interference in its Boris Johnson partygate probe, naming seven MPs and three peers as those who put “improper pressure” on the investigation.

It singled out Mr Rees-Mogg and Ms Dorries in particular for using their shows on GB News and TalkTV respectively to mount “the most vociferous attacks”, reports Sky News.

ITV’s Paul Brand tweeted: “BREAKING: Privileges Committee concludes that Conservative MPs and peers deliberately tried to undermine its inquiry into Boris Johnson and intimidate its members. They single out Nadine Dorries, Michael Fabricant, Jacob Rees-Mogg, Priti Patel, Mark Jenkinson and more.”

He added: “Reminder that the committee is made up of a majority of Conservative MPs. This is yet more Tory on Tory civil war, though the committee presents that the principle at stake here is of course much broader and bigger than that.”

Angry Tory MPs

Here are three of the many angry MPs reactions to the findings.

1.

On publication of the previous report I said it had overreached. Prior to publication I had not referred to the committee.

Yet in another perfect example of gross overreach, the committee use a tweet that did not refer to them and was about the media witch hunt of Boris Johnson. https://t.co/clLfh18L6b

2.

Members of Parliament fulfil an important role in society and it is absolutely vital that they are able to scrutinise and comment on any matters relating to their work. Having fully respected the processes before me and at no point referring to the committee whilst preparing 1/2

3.

I stand by my statement. Some of the members of the Privileges Committee treated their witness, Boris Johnson, with contempt by gestures and other actions. Had it been in a law court, the judge would have called them to order. Respect for the Committee needs to be earned. pic.twitter.com/t8qpglLIB3
