Ed Miliband has been burned again – a light that will never go out?

"It's rare that a tweet makes me genuinely laugh out loud when I'm alone but this tweet made me laugh out loud and I'm on my own."

Ed Miliband he did over his own brother, failed to win an election, then found a personality and became quite amusing on social media.

But Ed and his brother David will forever been remembered for two photos!

One is Dave with his banana.

#r4today it’s International Banana Day (seriously)! David Miliband could buy a lot of bananas with that half million he trousers each year from that charity he runs! Wonder if they’ll have him on to spout this morning? pic.twitter.com/SzqtDvaZB7

It took Ed Miliband eating a bacon sandwich kinda weird to ruin his political career but it took Boris Johnson lying multiple times, having a party in a pandemic, abuse allegations, multiple affair babies and 50+ ministers resigning????? pic.twitter.com/YtSysBtVMj

A Wikipedia on the matter page reads: “A photograph of then-Labour Party leader Ed Miliband eating a bacon sandwich became a source of sustained commentary and the subject of an internet meme in 2014 and 2015. Taken for the London Evening Standard newspaper while Miliband was campaigning for local elections in May 2014, the image became well known following the popular perception of it as making Miliband appear awkward, error-prone and incapable of performing simple tasks.”

Amusing…

Look the Miliband’s are not the only ones…

Gordon Brown had Gillian Duffy.

Ed Miliband had a bacon sandwich.

Theresa May had ‘fields of wheat’.

Liz Truss had ‘Pork markets’.

Rishi Sunak had a cup of tea.

Solar panels

Ok a bit of serious stuff before we get to a new twist in Ed’s bacon journey.

As Shadow climate secretary he has hinted that Labour could require newly-built homes to have solar panels on their roofs if it wins power.

Asked whether his party would to pass new legislation requiring solar panels on new builds, he replied: “On the solar rooftop revolution, that’s something we’re very interested in.”

He did not give details of what the party might be considering, but said: “Watch this space, we’ll say more about this.

“I think it’s a huge opportunity on commercial premises, and huge opportunity in the home as well,” he added.

New Bacon farce?

Someone on Twitter posted a picture of a food menu and wrote: “My sister sent me this photo of a menu she saw on holiday and I’m crying.”

The restaurant appears to be located in Spain.

Never has one photo caused one man, one country, or one continent so much hassle and suffering.

And yet, it is a genuinely comedic photo, you just can’t stop looking at it. https://t.co/FaUXlM4N6n
