Farage visited Britain’s first Reform pub for pint of ‘remainer tears’ – barred reactions

That place reeks of "my ex won't let me see the kids," wrote one person, in response.

A Reform pub opened up in Blackpool recently, and it seems Nigel Farage popped in for the first time recently. The only strange thing about it is why it took him so long or indeed why he wasn’t there for the opening, for the media attention.

Perhaps he has been too busy with all the new Reform politicians who have been booted out of the party or have not bothered to turn up to their new roles.

Anyway, he has visited and said wrote: “I went to the first Reform UK pub and had a pint of Remainer tears.”

Net zero

It comes as Richard Tice, the energy spokesperson for Reform and MP for Boston and Skegness, claims that Labour will back down on its net zero policies aimed at achieving net zero greenhouse gas emissions.

Richard Tice said this party would withdraw from the 2015 Paris agreement that tries to limit global heating to 1.5C.

“The idea that we can afford £10bn for climate aid is ridiculous,” he said. “We have plenty of problems ourselves that we rely on government to look after.”

Tice, who drives an electric car, said he believed Labour had “a growing anxiety that they have got it wrong on net zero. If energy bills do not come down, they will be in serious electoral trouble.”

A government source told The Guardian that Tice’s attacks on net zero would not sway Starmer. “This is nonsense from Tice. We are doubling down on this agenda because it is the way to take back control of our energy, protect households and create jobs,” said the source. “As the prime minister recently said, it is in the DNA of this government. We will fight Reform’s anti-jobs, anti-growth, anti-energy security, ideological agenda, community by community, as we make the patriotic case for clean energy and climate action.”

North Northamptonshire Council by-election

Also, Reform UK and the Conservative Party have picked up more seats on North Northamptonshire Council after a by-election.

It was called in the Higham Ferrers ward after Liberal Democrat candidate John Ratcliffe died prior to last month’s elections, which saw Reform UK take overall control of the authority.

Voters went to the polls for the rearranged election on Thursday, and the results saw Reform UK’s Mark Haddon newly elected, while Conservative councillor Jennie Bone retained her seat.

The turnout was 31.1%, just below the 31.6% average for the wider North Northamptonshire Council vote.

So nobody told @Nigel_Farage that the landlord regrets voting for the Brexit grift and is now having to apply for a visa to move to Spain?

“If they’d explained everything about Brexit, I’d probably have voted Remain!”
