Jacob Ress-Mogg’s colonial comments have been slammed as he made the bizarre claims on GB News (where else?)

He said: “If we could rule a quarter of the world’s population with 175 Foreign Office staff there is no reason we cannot run our island nation today with 40,000 civil servants.”

History has never been Rees-Mogg's strong point. Throw in a financial incentive to say stupid things, and it's like the enlightenment never happened.

He might want to crack open his HR manual and add slavery, brutal violence, and pillaging as vital skills.

It’s frightening that we let a Victorian ghost have so much say in this country. https://t.co/XT2GzqzLtQ

Ofcom

Also, Jacob Rees-Mogg’s GB News show is now being investigated by Ofcom.

The UK media watchdog launched four further investigations into the channel’s compliance with due impartiality rules.

Ofcom said it was looking at three programmes, including Jacob Rees-Mogg’s show ‘State Of The Nation’, in relation to its rule that politicians must not act as news presenters.

War on Woke

Marina Purkiss shared a video of her sparring with Mogg and wrote: “As the war on woke heats up… I want to remind you of what @Jacob_Rees_Mogg had to say When I asked him how their “anti-woke policies” would help recover the country… Spoiler: they won’t.”
