Letter in The Times nails our calamitous government

"This wins Twitter today," wrote one person simply.

The Times published a letter about the Tory party and PM’s Rishi Sunak’s calamitous government.

Home Secretary Suella Braverman is given a rough old ride too.

It comes as Keir Starmer challenged Rishi Sunak, during an LBC appearance, to force Nadine Dorries out of the House of Commons because she has said she wants to resign anyway and she appears to have given up doing any work in her capacity as an MP.

Football tweet

Also, Rishi Sunak has been accused of the most cringe football tweet ever.

After the England side lost to Spain in the World Cup final on Sunday, he, well his account, tweeted: “You left absolutely nothing out there @Lionesses. It wasn’t to be, but you’ve already secured your legacy as game changers. We are all incredibly proud of you.”

As you can tell that isn’t the phrase that he wanted to use.

You left absolutely nothing out there @Lionesses.

It wasn't to be, but you've already secured your legacy as game changers.

We are all incredibly proud of you.

Cost of University

If that wasn’t enough Education Secretary Gillian Keegan has admitted that the cost of university for today’s students would have put her off going when she was younger.

Keegan told TimesRadio: “We have a student loan system. We have a maintenance loan system as well. So those systems are in place and they’ve actually enabled more and more people from disadvantaged backgrounds to go to university.

“So since 2010, you’re now 86% more likely to go to university from a disadvantaged backgrounds. But what I’ve been working on as well is making sure that if that is how you feel – and I have some sympathy with that because I probably would have had the same concerns because I wouldn’t have possibly had the confidence to back myself with that an investment of £50,000 or so at that age.”
