What glory days they were, the economy tanked, she stabbed her Chancellor in the back and made everyone poorer (unless you’re that 0.1% of people, who I doubt are reading this)
The shortest serving PM in history has a lot to say, apparently, and is writing a book.
Politico’s report that the PM is now writing a book has been met with some funny retorts and even funnier potential titles.
Another book?
She recently had a book out ad you have to feel for the biographers, whose rushed book originally had the subtitle: “The inside story of Liz Truss and her astonishing rise to power”.
The book was still published however the subtitle now reads, with a hint of bitterness from the writers : “The inside story of the unexpected rise and rapid fall of Liz Truss”.
Damaged government
Only yesterday the decision of Truss and Kwasi Kwarteng to instantly sack two top civil servants damaged the running of government and seemed intended to give the message that they valued political alignment above competence, former senior officials have said, reports The Guardian.
Nick Macpherson, who preceded Scholar (one of those sacked by Truss) in the Treasury role said: “It was almost as if it was a pre-emptive strike designed to demonstrate to the rest of the Treasury that if you wanted to thrive and prosper under the Kwarteng regime, you had to tell them what they wanted to hear, namely that unfunded tax cuts would have no consequences in the market.”
