A row about Newcastle United membership suspension has brought swimmer Sharron Davies into the argument.
It comes as a Newcastle United fan claims the club suspended her membership after police investigated tweets saying ‘trans women are men’.
The unnamed woman said she first heard about the inquiry in an email from the club’s security complaints team.
The club said her £37-a-year membership was being suspended as ‘standard practice’ because her alleged ‘malicious communications’ under investigation ‘contravene our ground regulations’.

The woman voluntarily attended an interview at Northumbria Police’s Forth Banks station last week to try and clear her name.
According to the transcript, the officer reads out various posts, asking her of each of them: ‘Do you think this could be seen as offensive?’ The woman, who said she was alarmed by the questions, answered ‘no comment’ to everything.

Davies tweeted: “Hi @NUFC I advocate for equality in sport for biological females to do that it’s important we understand & acknowledge the reality of human biology. Humans cannot change sex. I believe transwomen are male. Am I banned from your stadium please?”

Your personal commitment to promoting the LGBTQ agenda cannot be divorced from the grossly offensive actions of your male officers on behalf of one of that movement’s unhinged activists.”
