PMQs: Sunak calls Starmer softy & flakey but two Rishi answers melted away

The PM got personal with the Labour leader again today.

Today’s PMQs was not quite the great day for Starmer, after the Tories collapsed in the local elections. Starmer softy, as he had been dubbed, by Sunak didn’t exactly act like a man of steel.

However, at one point the Labour leader said that Rishi Sunak has only lost two things in his life – a beauty contest with Liz Truss last year, before Truss lost to a lettuce, and then the locals.

In response, Rishi Sunak said Starmer keeps performing U-turns. ‘He is not just Sir Softy, he is flaky too.’

Perhaps following the ice cream theme, next week he might call him ‘monkey’s blood,’ or “monkey’s p*ss,’ as my ice cream man called it as a boy, bizarrely.

Softy on bankers?

With that in mind the SNP’s Stephen Flynn asked: “If the Prime Minister was to go to the boot of his Land Rover & pull out some placards which said save our non-doms… would he expect to be arrested by the police?”

It comes after anti-monarchy protestors were arrested before and during Charles’ coronation.

Sunak didn’t have an answer of course.

My softy on the people he is mates with maybe?

Southampton

In response to a question about a football team not doing very well, he responded and said his team wasn’t doing well either.

That is true, he is a ‘massive’ Southampton fan, or is he a bit flaky?

As not long ago he stumbled over a question about his football team, Southampton, while speaking at an event in Manchester as he tries to beat Liz Truss to become Prime Minister.

‘As a Southampton Football Club fan, how do you get back to winning ways?’

‘Starting by beating [Manchester] United this weekend!’

Rishi Sunak mistakenly suggests his team, Southampton FC, are playing Manchester United this weekend.

It isn’t the fist Tory football faux pax, back in April 2015, David Cameron famously forgot that he was a supporter of Aston Villa – not West Ham.
