Prince Andrew, for it is he, has been caught up in another scandal. I doubt anyone is surprised…

According, to The Guardian Andrew was among at least five members of the royal family who used the shell company Bank of England Nominees, which was set up in the 1970s to prevent the “embarrassing” public disclosure of Queen Elizabeth II’s investments.

The paper writes: “Andrew’s use of the shell company, which has not previously been reported, is significant because he was a government “special trade envoy” at the same time. Through this role he would have had access to commercially sensitive information.”

Head of investigations at The Guardian Paul Lewis tweeted the story and wrote: “It took two years and the threat of legal action for the Guardian to obtain documents revealing that Prince Andrew (and four other royals) concealed their shares in this shell company.”

Coronation

Prince Andrew is expected to attend his brother, King Charles’ coronation on Saturday 6 May alongside his daughters, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, and other members of the royal family.

However, as he is not working royal, Prince Andrew will likely not appear on the famous Buckingham Palace balcony following the ceremony.

Channel 4 is set to air a documentary about Prince Andrew as part of its coverage of King Charles’ coronation.

The ceremony will see celebrations up and down the country, but the broadcaster has other plans with Emily Maitlis set for a TV return in a two part series breaking down her bombshell BBC interview with the royal.

Sarah Ferguson

The Duchess of York has not been invited to King Charles’s coronation next month, sources have confirmed.

It is understood that there is no “ill will” from the duchess, Sarah Ferguson, about this decision, who is said not to have expected to attend.

Before her divorce in 1996, she was married to Prince Andrew.
