A video of sewage on the UK coastline has gone viral again as the pay of the Chief executive of the water company is revealed.
As reported by ITV, CEO of the Pennon Group and South West Water Susan Davy is paid a base salary of around £460,000.
Across the whole water industry the Financial Times reported, Britain’s water and sewage companies paid £1.4bn in dividends in 2022, up from £540mn the previous year

In response, Howard Beckett from the Trade Union Unite shared the video from last winter, which showed huge amounts of sewage on the Cornish coastline.
He wrote: “The CEO of South West Water received a salary of £456,000 last year and bonuses, incentives & benefits of over £1ml. This is what South West Water pumped into the Cornwall coastline on the 1st November last year. Nationalise water now.”
Bonus
It was reported that this year she has turned down her bonus South West Water was recently hit with a huge fine relating to the pollution of rivers and beaches.
About her refusal to accept the £500,000 bonus, Ms Davy, CEO of the Pennon Group, said: “This is the right thing to do. We’re listening to our customers, we get it. I want South West Water focused on delivering for customers, communities and the region, with no excuses.”
Thames water
The chief executive of Thames Water has stepped down after two years in the role, weeks after giving up her bonus over sewage spills.
Sarah Bentley left with immediate effect.
Over the weekend there were protests held over Thames River sewage discharges.
The demonstration was held on Rainbow Bridge in Port Meadow, Oxford, by Extinction Rebellion (XR) to demand change from Thames Water.
The group said it wanted to highlight the serious risk to bathers’ health and the future of the river’s ecosystem.
