Watch: BBC & Laura Kuenssberg slammed for failing to raise important topic…again

"I see Tory Laura has had her conservative Weetabix this morning."

Yesterday’s Sunday Morning politics on the BBC has been slammed, and not for the first time.

This time over failure to mention the government’s new anti-strike laws.

It comes as health secretary Steve Barclay said “voluntary arrangements” for emergency cover during recent ambulance strikes could not “ensure patient and public safety”.

In a letter to the GMB, he acknowledged unions that walked out had agreed to answer the most serious category one 999 calls.

However, he then said the lack of cover for category two calls, including strokes, in some areas put lives at risk.

The GMB has accused the government of “demonising” its striking workers.

Morning Politics

For the second week running the show failed to discuss the potential anti-strike laws, says Peter Stefanovic.

One person on social media wrote: “I see Tory Laura has had her conservative Weetabix this morning. She has challenged Starmer more in the last few minutes than she has ever challenged ALL the Tory MPs that she has EVER interviewed. @bbclaurak is an absolute disgrace to her profession. #laurakuenssberg.”

Viral video

Lawyer Peter Stefanovic tweeted the video, pointing out that the employment law elephant in the room was not discussed again, and wrote: “This is the 2nd week running the Sunday morning politics shows failed to raise with a minister Government plans to restrict the democratic right of workers to take industrial action – forcing people to work against their will & allowing them to be sacked if they won’t submit!”

Reactions

1.

Because @bbclaurak is a huge Tory fan, as is Fiona Bruce. So why would she focus on that. Such a shame there are no presenters like the departed Robin Day or even the like of Paxman doing her job.

I have no idea how much she is paid…. but I can say with total confidence it's way too much.

Thank good you are here ….. the waste of opportunity to call these cabinet members to answer for the shameful way they run this country is shameful

4.

Once again few journalists asking tough questions especially in the context of anti strike laws

5.

Please get the brilliant informative video to everyone. Workers are citizens gov not have a Gov declaring war to drive down living standards & making slaves of workers who strike personally responsible for the minimum service levels or sacked with no legal appeal https://t.co/vEys1ssQ9U

6.

Or is this the case?

BBC now controlled by Tories.
