Green Party MP Caroline Lucas showed the House of Commons what she thought of the government’s immigration bill.
She literally ripped up a copy of Suella Braverman’s Illegal Migrant Bill during the MPs’ debate!
The Green Party MP for Brighton Pavilion called the government’s plans to stop small boats crossing the English Channel an “illegal and immoral bill, which has no place on our statute book” before tearing a piece of paper.
Under the policy, those who arrive in the UK illegally will be detained and “promptly removed, either to their home country or a safe third country,” and will not be able to return or claim British citizenship.
The bill made Gary Lineker write the infamous tweet which perhaps took the eyes off the actual bill in the MSM.
