Matt Hancock rating drinks shouldn’t surprise anyone to be honest. That doesn’t mean it won’t be as cringeworthy as ever.

He has been on I’m a celeb and been seen telling people he is a normal person…

he’s joined a viral blind-rating challenge, ranking drinks without knowing what’s coming next.

Covid inquiry

Planning for a no-deal Brexit from 2018 “crowded out” government efforts to prepare for a pandemic and contributed to leaving the country unready, the first evidence session of the Covid public inquiry has heard, reports The Guardian.

Our drink tasing maestro and former health secretary Matt Hancock had admitted to the inquiry a “lack of concrete preparedness plans”.

“On coming into post as health secretary, I was advised that the UK was a world leader in preparations for the pandemic,” Hancock has said in his statement. “It did not turn out to be the case.” He is due to give evidence later this month.

The Covid pandemic that claimed at least 226,977 lives.

Wrong pandemic

The government was more concerned about an influenza pandemic, rather than one originating from a coronavirus, so it “had not adequately foreseen and prepared” for what was required for a mass outbreak of a disease that was not flu, the inquiry was told on its first day.
