A guest at the coronation on Saturday who was accused of being ‘Meghan Markle in disguise’ has spoken out, what a world we live in!

The man wasn’t Meghan, as we expected. The real man behind the moustache is Sir Karl Jenkins

Jenkins is a musical composer who had written some music for the ceremony.

“I look this way all the time”, Jenkins told fans in a viral TikTok video.

“I’ve had the moustache since I was 18 years old. It was very trendy then. So, that’s me. Nothing sinister or surprising at all!”

Coronation protests

64 people were arrested in London during the Coronation policing operation. Police said 52 of these related to concerns people were going to disrupt the event. Four people have so far been charged.

The force said it expressed “regret” that six demonstrators from the Republic campaign group were arrested on Saturday.

Sir Mark Rowley says the arrest of six anti-monarchy protesters was “unfortunate” – but insists his officers were seeking to thwart what he describes as a “criminal network”.

Anger

Femi, for one, wasn’t having it.

He tweeted: ” Dear @metpoliceuk. From the bottom of my heart… Get f****d!

“The Met Police EXPLICITLY threatened the country before the Coronation that their “tolerance will be low” when it comes to protests.

“Saying they regret it now means NOTHING!”

Also Dame Diane Johnson said: “I want to know why the Home Office are writing to organisations, as they did with Republic, setting out changes in the law. That’s been seen to be perhaps intimidatory and I don’t know whether that’s a new tactic that the Home Office are using.

“That issue of how protests were policed is something that has raised concerns, particularly about the implementation of this very new act of parliament, the Public Order Act 2023, and particular section 2, which is about going equipped to lock on, which seems to have been at the core of why members of Republic were arrested around the use of luggage tags.”

This was in reaction to people being sent letters before the even warning them to behave or simply scare them from attending the event.
