After breaking the ministerial code by transmitting secure information from her personal email account, Ms. Braverman resigned from her position seven days ago.

She also made disparaging statements about Liz Truss’s administration.

However, yesterday, the new prime minister, Rishi Sunak, rehired her after selecting a number of well-known individuals to serve in his cabinet.

By nominating Ms. Braverman to appease the right flank of his party, Mr. Sunak was accused by Labour of “putting party before country” and launching an attack on the decision.

The so-called cultural wars have become a point of contention for Ms. Braverman in parliament, and she recently attacked the “Guardian-reading, tofu-eating wokerati.”

Additionally, she has steadfast policy stances, particularly in regard to reducing net migration and her persistent support for the Rwanda expulsion plan.
