Bill Gates has taken a swipe at fellow billionaire Elon Musk, accusing the Tesla boss of harming the world’s most vulnerable in a scathing interview with the Financial Times.
🚨 Gates: Musk’s Cuts Are ‘Killing the World’s Poorest Children’
Gates didn’t hold back, claiming Musk’s drastic cuts to the US Agency for International Development (USAID) are putting lives at risk.
Musk has previously called for the US government to scrap USAID, describing it as a “criminal organisation” and declaring on social media in February that it was “time” for it to die.
Gates fired back on Thursday, accusing Musk of letting life-saving food and medicine rot in warehouses. “The picture of the world’s richest man killing the world’s poorest children is not a pretty one,” Gates said.
🌍 HIV Crisis Ignored?
Gates also claimed that Musk had blocked funding for a hospital in Mozambique’s Gaza Province. The hospital was working to prevent mothers from transmitting HIV to their babies.
According to Gates, Musk wrongly believed the US was supplying condoms to Hamas in the Middle East and cut the funding.
“I’d love for him to go in and meet the children that have now been infected with HIV because he cut that money,” Gates added.
🔥 Billionaire Beef
The bad blood between Gates and Musk isn’t new. It goes back to Gates shorting Tesla stock and their disagreements over philanthropy.
In January, Gates reportedly described Musk’s push to promote far-right politics as “insane shit.”
