Boris Johnson’s latest book, Unleash, is facing delays in reaching European shelves, with Brexit being blamed for the hold-up, according to Politico.

The former prime minister, who played a key role in creating trade barriers between Britain and the EU, now finds his book impacted by those very restrictions. Johnson had hoped the book would help boost his post-political career, but complications at the border are slowing its arrival in Europe.

Brexit Delays Hit Book Sales

The book was published on 10 October, but in places like Brussels, it’s still missing from store shelves. An assistant manager at a Waterstones in central Brussels explained, “It didn’t arrive, and it’s because of Brexit. It’s ironic.”

Brexit-related border checks are causing delays, with British books taking about a week longer to reach the EU market compared to before.

This delay also means that European officials will have to wait a bit longer to get their hands on Johnson’s account of Brexit negotiations and his sometimes tense relationships with EU leaders.
