Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. lost his cool during a Senate committee session—so much so that a fellow Republican begged him to “hold back.”
❓ A simple question sparks chaos
Senator Patty Murray accused Kennedy of “lying” about publicised cuts to staffing and funding at HHS. She then asked:
“Secretary Kennedy, whose decision was it to withhold child care and development block grant funding?”
Instead of answering, he launched into a diatribe about Joe Biden’s record.

🔥 From deflection to finger-pointing
Murray tried to steer him back:
“Mr. Secretary, seriously,” she interjected.
Kennedy snapped:

“You’ve presided over the destruction of the health of the American people… Our people are now the sickest people in the world because you have not done your job!”
He repeated:
“What have you done about the epidemic of chronic disease?”
😳 An adult steps in
Senator Shelley Moore Capito, chair of the subcommittee, stepped in:
“Mr. Secretary, I would ask you to hold back and let the senator ask the questions.”
🏁 At last, an answer
Once calm returned, Murray re-asked:
“Whose decision was it to withhold child care funding?”
Kennedy replied plainly:
“That was made by my department.”
