Joe Rogan mocks doctor for being ‘overweight’ – and the clapback is glorious

Joe Rogan, the world’s most famous podcaster and noted Trump fan, found himself on the receiving end of a quiet but killer comeback – and it came from a doctor he tried to humiliate over their weight.

During a chat with actor Woody Harrelson (yes, unfortunately), Rogan dredged up a past moment involving Dr Peter Hotez – the renowned scientist who has spent his career fighting disease and misinformation.

Rogan questioned why he should take medical advice from Hotez during the pandemic, saying:

“When I was talking to Dr Peter Hotez, who’s an overweight guy who eats junk food, and he’s telling me everybody’s gotta get vaccinated. I’m like, are you healthy? Because you don’t seem [it]. Do you work out? Do you eat well? Do you take vitamins?”

A familiar Rogan rant – smug, loud, and full of false equivalence.

💥 Dr Hotez fires back with class and credentials

Rather than rise to the bait with insults, Dr Hotez responded on X (formerly Twitter) with the kind of confidence only a man with three degrees and 100 million lives saved can deliver:

“I mean, I guess I could lose a few pounds, but as I get close to 70 years old, hopefully Joe will look as good. Here I am in a new pic with my pretty wife Ann of almost 40 years of marriage. In the meantime I helped pioneer low cost vaccines that have reached 100 million people.”
