Donald Trump Jr. has sparked outrage online after posting a controversial message about President Joe Biden’s cancer diagnosis. Critics quickly slammed him as “vile” for sharing a conspiracy theory regarding the former president’s health.
💔 The Initial Post: A Brief Moment of Decency
At first, Trump Jr. appeared to show some compassion. Following the announcement that Biden has an aggressive form of prostate cancer, Trump Jr. reposted a message wishing the president a speedy recovery. “Politics aside, we wish him a speedy recovery,” he added, agreeing with the sentiment.
But that brief moment of goodwill didn’t last long.
😡 The Turning Point: A Mocking Post
Just three hours later, Trump Jr. shifted gears, posting a follow-up message that mocked Jill Biden, the first lady and holder of a doctoral degree in education. He also hinted at a conspiracy theory about Biden’s diagnosis.
“What I want to know is how did Dr. Jill Biden miss stage five metastatic cancer or is this yet another cover-up???” he wrote. He then pinned the post to the top of his feed.
💥 The Backlash
Trump Jr.’s tone stood in stark contrast to that of his father, who had publicly wished Biden a “fast and successful recovery.” Other right-wing figures, such as Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene, expressed sympathy, saying she was “sorry” to hear the news and offering prayers to Biden and his family.
But Trump Jr.’s critics were quick to call out his message, condemning it as “disgusting” and accusing him of using the diagnosis as an opportunity for political attacks.
