The Labour government has confirmed that UK forces are currently training Israeli Defence Force (IDF) soldiers in Britain — despite mounting accusations of genocide in Gaza.
The revelation came after Labour MP Rachael Maskell asked Armed Forces Minister Luke Pollard when UK armed forces last trained Israeli soldiers.
Pollard didn’t just confirm it’s happened — he said it’s happening right now.
“The UK is currently training a limited number of Israel Defence Forces personnel on UK-based training courses,” he wrote in a statement on Wednesday.

The admission comes at a time when Israel stands accused of carrying out a 19-month military campaign in Gaza that has now claimed over 55,000 lives, according to the Gaza Health Ministry.
Despite this, the UK continues to:
- Train Israeli soldiers on British soil
- Export weapons parts, including for F-35 fighter jets used in Gaza
- Run RAF spy plane missions over the Gaza Strip to aid Israeli operations
The UK government insists it only shares surveillance data when it relates to hostage rescues and is used “in accordance with international humanitarian law.”
But with images of bombed-out hospitals, mass graves and blockaded civilians flooding global media, that claim is being met with growing scepticism.
🧨 Israel’s deadly campaign in Gaza
Israel’s war in Gaza has reduced much of the territory to rubble.
- Over 55,000 Palestinians killed, with women and children making up the majority
- 127,000+ wounded
- 90% of Gaza’s population displaced
- Entire cities like Rafah turned into military buffer zones
Israel says it is targeting Hamas. But UN agencies and global aid groups say systematic aid theft by Hamas is a myth — and accuse Israel of restricting humanitarian access, fuelling starvation and chaos.
Even the new US-backed aid system has faced problems, with violence, looting and Israeli restrictions disrupting deliveries.
