Nigel Farage clashed with a Sky News journalist after being pressed on a key Reform UK policy. Here’s how it went down.
🚨 Farage Dodges Question on Immigration Cap
Nigel Farage hit back at Sky News deputy political editor Sam Coates when pressed about his party’s immigration plans. Coates asked if Reform UK, which has promised to freeze “non-essential” immigration, would cap the number of people coming to the UK.
Farage shot back: “You can play whatever silly games you want.”
❓ The Exchange
Farage, responding to Keir Starmer’s latest immigration crackdown, insisted Reform UK would only allow people with “essential” skills, like healthcare workers, to come to the UK. However, he refused to commit to a specific cap.
When Coates pushed him on this, asking if a cap would be part of the plan, Farage replied: “By the time of the next election? We will. I can’t tell you the numbers right now, I don’t have all the figures.”
Coates pressed further, saying: “So you are committing to a cap on the numbers of people.”
Farage cut him off, adding: “Ask me in four years’ time. You can play whatever silly games you want right now.”
📉 Farage’s Critique of Starmer
Farage then took a swipe at Starmer’s recent immigration proposals, claiming they lacked substance: “There is nothing that has been said today that I think is genuinely going to be followed through with vigour and lead to levels of immigration going back to historic levels.”
