Donald Trump exploded at a Wall Street Journal journalist on Sunday during an Air Force One briefing — all because of a question about Russia.
🛬 Tensions high at 30,000 feet
Flying high, but not in spirit, the former president lost his cool when asked about potential peace talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin. The reporter, doing what reporters do, simply asked a straight question about Trump’s involvement in brokering peace between Russia and Ukraine.
Instead of answering, Trump snapped:
“Which outlet are you with?”
Upon hearing it was the Wall Street Journal, he let rip.
📰 “Rotten newspaper!” says Trump
“That’s what I thought. Boy, you people treat us so badly. Wall Street Journal has truly gone to hell. Go ahead, yeah. Rotten newspaper. You hear me? What I said? It’s a rotten newspaper,” Trump fumed.
He then gestured for the reporter to go ahead with the question — but quickly backtracked.
“I wouldn’t tell the Wall Street Journal because it’d be wasting my time,” he snapped. “There are talks, but I don’t want to talk to the Wall Street Journal. Look, Wall Street Journal is China-oriented and they’re really bad for this country.”
🔥 Long-running feud reignited
Trump moved on to another reporter, leaving that question hanging in the clouds.
This latest rant adds fuel to the long-simmering feud between Trump and the Rupert Murdoch-owned paper. While the Journal leans conservative, it hasn’t held back in criticising Trump — especially over his trade war policies, once dubbed by the paper:
“The dumbest trade war in history.”
