President Donald Trump blew up at a CNN reporter on Wednesday after she dared to ask a question that wasn’t entirely flattering – and it quickly turned into another headline-grabbing tantrum.
📍 The confrontation happened as Trump held a press event outside the White House to show off newly installed flagpoles, which he bizarrely described as a “gift from me” and “the best poles anywhere in the world”.
But things turned awkward when CNN’s Alayna Treene asked him about division among his own MAGA supporters over the US response to the escalating conflict between Israel and Iran.
🎤 ‘Who are you with?’: classic Trump deflection
Treene began her question by saying, “Some of your supporters are splitting on the US response to…” – but was swiftly interrupted by Trump, who fired back with his trademark line: “Who are you with?”
When she replied “CNN”, Trump sneered and dismissed her entirely, calling the network “fake news” and saying “nobody watches”.
He cut her off again as she tried to continue, asking: “Is anybody watching CNN nowadays? I haven’t seen it in a long time.”
🚫 Trump dodges the substance of the question
Treene pressed on, highlighting how some Trump supporters are worried about dragging the US into another foreign war, while others support it.
Trump claimed he hadn’t seen any sign of dissent and launched into a rambling answer:
“Do you ever ask a positive question at CNN? My supporters are more in love with me today, and I’m in love with them, more than they were even at election time.”
He offered no actual answer on policy – just praise for himself.
🤔 Why this matters
This isn’t the first time Trump has lost it when confronted with anything but adoration. But as tensions rise in the Middle East and American opinion becomes more divided, even MAGA isn’t entirely on the same page.
If Trump really wants to be seen as a leader, perhaps he should start by answering the questions – not attacking the reporters.
