Senator Bernie Sanders didn’t hold back on Wednesday when he tore into Donald Trump’s latest budget bill. On MSNBC, Sanders called the measure “beyond cruel” for handing massive tax cuts to the wealthy while stripping health care from millions.
💰 “Rich get richer; poor get nothing”
Sanders slammed the so-called “big, beautiful bill” for favouring big donors. He said it shows exactly “what Trumpism is really about.” In his view, Trump and his allies see rich donors as “superhuman beings” who deserve massive breaks.
“If you’re a poor working stiff—working in McDonald’s or a factory, struggling to feed your family—you’re entitled to nothing,” Sanders said.
He pointed out that the Republican bill cuts not just health care but also nutrition programmes and education. A Congressional Budget Office analysis warned that it would slash resources for the poorest Americans while boosting the wealthiest.
🎯 The essence of Trumpism
Sanders hit the nail on the head: “That is what Trumpism is about: for the superior people—the Elon Musks of the world—the goal is to make them more successful. If you’re a working stiff, you’re entitled to nothing.”
👊 Sanders’ warning
He wrapped up by stressing the cruelty of a system that rewards big donors while ignoring everyday Americans. For Sanders, this isn’t just politics—it’s a moral failing.
