Remain areas

Unsurprisingly, the Tories are losing most in remain areas, according to an analysis of today’s results.

Will Jennings tweeted: “An update on how the #LocalElections2023 vote is looking by Brexit vote. We continue to see a clear pattern where the Conservatives are losing most support in Remain voting areas, while Labour is gaining most in places that voted Leave in 2016.”

Rishi Sunak came out to defend the results.

Local election

This is a good comparison.

Left: Rishi Sunak, "Actually we're making progress in key election battlegrounds."

Right: Greg Hands, "We've lost well run Conservative councils, good Conservative councillors. Clearly, overall it's been a disappointing night." pic.twitter.com/vrqSsYQZ1q

This reaction to Peter’s video might well chime with you?

Enough said Peter! As always👍… "So let's break this bollocks down" has to be the best political commentary on this dreadful Govt that I've ever heard. Oh how I wish they would give you a seat in @bbcquestiontime 👍 https://t.co/Wz1FjXSDgX
