Tory chair Greg Hands faced the media and tried to defend his party as they slumped in local elections voting last night.

He claims they have been ‘disappointing’ – but claims it’s ‘not that great’ for Labour in some places.

Hands told GB News: “We always said it would be a difficult night for the party, the independent projections were all that we were going to lose 1,000 seats.

“It’s still early days so far but if I might say, it’s not been that great a result for Labour in some areas.

“We’ve actually gained seats in Peterborough, Sandwell, Bassetlaw, other areas that Labour need to win at the next election.

Boris Johnson comeback?

Tory Chairman Greg Hands tells Nick Ferrari that he expects to see Boris Johnson ‘back out on the campaign trail’ within his constituency.

Greg Hands told Nick Ferrari at breakfast on LBC that Boris Johnson is welcome on the campaign trail: “I’ve always been clear to Boris that he is welcome to be out campaigning with us. Back out there he is a campaigning force.”

Excuse

So who is to blame for the disastrous results?

Hands told Sky News, that it was Putin’s invasion on Ukraine that cost them at the ballot box.
