GB news smoking

GB News host Mark Dolan lit a cigarette live on air as he took aim at Labour in a bizarre rant.

The former comedian claimed the party wants to ban smoking “just like in New Zealand” and “pledged to take up this filthy habit just to annoy them”.

“I’m one of those people, that if you tell me I can’t do something, that’s exactly the thing I’m going to do,” Mark Dolan said.

“I pledge to take up this filthy habit, just to annoy them. Arrest me, why don’t you,” he then said lighting up a cigarette.

Russia Today

Broadcasting licences have been taken away before.

Back in March 2022 the Russian state-backed news channel RT has had its licence to broadcast in the UK revoked “with immediate effect” by media regulator Ofcom.

The watchdog said RT’s parent body ANO TV Novosti was not “fit and proper to hold a UK broadcast licence”.

RT’s coverage of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine has been under investigation by Ofcom, and the channel had already disappeared from UK screens.

In response, the channel called Ofcom “a tool of the government”.
