With the appointment of a director, Final Destination 6 has advanced significantly. Or, more precisely, it hired two directors.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Freaks directing team of Zach Lipovsky and Adam B Stein has joined the franchise revival. Along with Atlantan Dianne McGunigle, director Jon Watts of the MCU Spider-Man trilogy will produce the film.

The screenplay was written by Guy Busick and Lori Evans Taylor, who previously created the writing for the most recent Scream movie. Watts also wrote the film’s treatment. Although the narrative is being kept a secret, the notion of people dying in ever-more-gruesome ways still exists.

The couple allegedly gained the directing position during a Zoom conversation in which a fire started behind them. A fan that was hanging from the ceiling fell and severed one of the pair’s heads shortly after they put out the fire. The studio executives gave them the job because of their dedication and the apparent flawless integration of visual effects.

The Final Destination franchise, which had five films released between 2000 and 2011, was New Line Cinema’s third-best-performing horror franchise, behind the two It movies ($1 billion) and The Conjuring series ($2 billion). Its five films grossed almost $700 million in total box office between 2000 and 2011.
