It has been alleged that MPs were “manhandled” and “bullied” into casting a particular vote in Parliament.

MP Chris Bryant claimed that in extraordinary circumstances, some members were “forced” to vote a certain way.

The Chief Whip, Wendy Morton, allegedly resigned as the events in the lobby were taking place.

Craig Whittaker, the deputy chief whip, is also believed to have resigned.
